What type of apprenticeships does FLYLINE offer?

• Apprentice for interoffice communications
• Apprentice for system integration
• Apprentice for the travel industry
• Apprentice for customer service marketing

How long does an apprenticeship last?

Normally an apprenticeship will take three years to compete, but it may not take as long under certain circumstances (for example if you have excellent school grades, or show exceptional performance).

How often do I attend any vocational training?

Apprentices for interoffice communications and for the travel industry have vocational training lessons twice a week at a trade school for wholesaling, exports and transport. Also twice a week our apprentices for customer service marketing visit the vovational school in the Bördestraße. Apprentices for system integration attend the Utbremen school for a week every month (sandwich course).

Are there any examinations throughout the apprenticeship?

A preliminary multiple-choice exam is given by the chamber of commerce at the end of your second apprenticeship year. Only people who have passed this exam will be able to take the final examinations.

Do I have to write any reports?

Yes, you have to write weekly reports about what you have learned at FLYLINE and the vocational training. These must be submitted once a month to be approved and signed off.

How many apprenticeships does FLYLINE offer?

Usually, we take on four apprentices for interoffice communications, two apprentices for the travel industry and one apprentice for system integration. As of 2010 we offer two apprenticeships for customer service marketing.

What are the entry requirements for an apprenticeship?

You’ll have good A-levels, GCSEs or equivalent. Since you’ll be working for a British company in Germany, you’ll need fluent German and English skills. We expect our apprentices to be passionate about their chosen field, highly motivated and to show a strong willingness to learn.

When and how can I apply?

The apprenticeships start in August/September, and you should apply approximately a year in advance. Please send your application to:

FLYLINE Tele Sales & Services GmbH
         Hermann-Köhl-Straße 3
         28199 Bremen
         Germany

What is the selection procedure?

If your application is successful, we will invite you to Bremen to meet us, so we can find out more about you, and tell you more about us. After an initial interview, there will be a presentation about the firm and a tour of our site. You will then take part in a few rounds of oral tests, where you’ll have a final chance to impress us. People applying for one of the travel industry apprenticeships will also be required to sit an extra simple written test.

Is there a probationary period?

Yes. The probationary period for apprentices lasts approximately four months.

What are the chances of being offered a job after the apprenticeship?

We try to take on as many of our apprentices as possible, and, while a job is not guaranteed at the end, there are plenty of opportunities for those who excel at FLYLINE and the vocational training.
