At FLYLINE, because …
…of the fantastic colleagues.
Graduating from high school in Pakistan, pursuing bachelor studies in the Netherlands, experiencing an internship in South Africa and securing a job in Bremen, Rizwan Anwar embodies the intercultural exchange found at FLYLINE. After completing a Bachelor’s in Business Administration focused on International Business and Management, the Pakistani landed in Bremen and FLYLINE following a short stay with his family. “I have chosen Flyline because of its international environment and short travel distance to my residence”, he remembers.
Amongst other things, he likes to work with his colleagues from the USA, Barbados, Vietnam & Nigeria. “The combination of openness, flexible working hours and constructive feedback culture in the company create a working environment I’ve never experienced before”, states the supervisor.
Motivator for customers and colleagues
Fluently speaking his mother tongue Urdu wasn’t enough for Rizwan, and therefore he proceeded to add English, German and Dutch into his communicative skills. Thus, the multitude of languages and cultures in FLYLINE made him feel just at home, allowing him a speedy career progression from a Customer Service Agent into a supervisorial position. This role has allowed his coaching skills to shine and develop the following mindset: “I not only like to help our customers, I also like to support the development of my colleagues by coaching them.”
Despite his speedy role transition within the company, Mr. Anwar takes his own career in a relaxed manner: “I don’t set career goals, whenever I see an opportunity that fits my interests and competencies, I just go for it”, he declares. The future is a whole different ball game though, as he himself paints the picture: “I really like to teach, train or coach. Maybe I can be a negotiator or mediator someday.”
People are the center
For Rizwan, it’s not all work and no fun. During his free time, he enjoys socializing and making new acquaintances. As he puts it himself: “I really like to participate in discussions concerning social action or politics”. Not only that, he’s also a sport enthusiast, regularly enjoying matches of cricket, football or badminton. And since helping runs in his blood, Rizwan enjoys doing volunteer work for diverse charities.
